BWI Solar
About the project
Founded in 2005, Black and White Investments LLC (BWI) is a minority-owned real estate development business that specializes in affordable multi-family housing construction, development, and maintenance.
BWI is located in Indianapolis, IN, and provides services across Indiana in addition to Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and other Midwestern locations.
LISC provided $635,000 in permanent financing to assist BWI with the installation of an advanced solar array at the Prosperity Scholar House development in Fort Wayne, IN. The Posterity Scholar House project is a 44 unit rental project in two separate 2 story buildings targeted for low-income single parentsĀ enrolled in college and working towards self-sufficiency. The addition of a solar array will not only provide power for transportation and energy consumption innovations for the residents of the Scholar House development, but additional energy will be sold back to the community and decrease the environmental footprint of the city as a whole.
