About the project
Classical Charter Schools was founded in 2006 and is a high-performing, national blue ribbon-winning education corporation in the South Bronx. It currently has four schools. Classical Charter Schools prepares K-8 grade scholars in the South Bronx to excel in college preparatory high schools. Through a classical curriculum and highly structured setting, students become liberated scholars and citizens of impeccable character who achieve proficiency in and advanced mastery of New York State’s Performance Standards.
Classical Charter Schools is located in the South Bronx, New York. At the time of closing, 89% of students qualified for free or reduced priced lunch.
LISC provided a $6.00 million loan to Civic Concourse Village Corporation, a special purpose entity of Civic Builders, Inc. Civic Builders is the developer for a ground-up construction of a 4-story, 51,895 square foot educational facility for Classical Charter Schools, a high-performing education corporation in the South Bronx. The facility will be the permanent home of South Bronx Classical IV K-5 and South Bronx Classical II's middle school (grades 6-8), and will serve 500 students at full enrollment.
