Comp Sci High
About the project
Civic Builders is a nonprofit developer and lender, bringing high-quality educational opportunities to under-resourced communities through the development of public charter schools. Civic Builders was established in 2002 to address the immediate need for charter school facilities support. By assuming development and lending needs such as financing, design, and construction, Civic Builders helps new charter schools open and growing charter schools reach more students.
Civic Builders turnkey development services are mainly in New York City and the Northeast, while financial services can be accessed nationwide.
LISC provided $9.75 million of construction financing to support the development of a permanent facility for Comp Sci High, a high performing charter school in the Bronx. Upon completion, the location will serve 498 9th through 12th graders as well as include an incubator space where Comp Sci will host community events throughout the year as well as a summer program that will employ its students.
