Family Engagement: What, Why, and How - Part I
This webinar is part of a series on the Enhancing School Capacity to Address Youth Violence program from LISC Safety & Justice and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Through this program, LISC is helping schools and community partners create coordinated safety strategies that address the social determinants of safety for students, families, and communities. DOJ OJJDP provides national leadership, coordination, and resources to prevent and respond to youth delinquency and victimization.
Overview
The Enhancing School Capacity to Address Youth Violence program supports the development and expansion of local programs and strategies that increase school safety by preventing and reducing school violence.
In furtherance of this goal, we will explore family engagement in a 2-part webinar series. This webinar Family Engagement: What, Why, and How. Part I – reviews key terms, explores the benefits of family engagement, and introduces a continuous improvement process to support healthy family engagement with caregivers, educators, and community partners. This webinar is discussion-based and includes guided discussions and exercises to promote an interactive experience.
