Flint Farmer's Market Relocation
About the project
Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, Inc. (URC) was founded in 2002 for the specific purpose of reinvigorating the Flint community by investing in its social, cultural, and commercial development. By sponsoring a wide variety of local initiatives, URC aims to create long-term, sustainable change throughout Flint.
Uptown Reinvestment Corporation is headquartered in Flint, MI.
LISC provided URC with $1,000,000 in mini-permanent financing to assist with the relocation of Flint's Farmer's Market. The relocation is part of a larger initiative to create a Health and Wellness District in the heart of downtown Flint, a federally designated food desert. In addition to increasing indoor and outdoor selling space to 76,000 square feet, the project will also provide a commercial kitchen, demonstration space, and community room that will seat up to 200 individuals.
