Henry Johnson Charter School
About the project
Henry Johnson Charter School is an elementary school founded in 2007 as the fifth school within the Brighter Choice Foundation Network. The school’s mission is to ensure that all scholars reach the highest levels of achievement in an environment that instills character, virtue and ‘habits of mind’ that foster success both within and outside the classroom.
Henry Johnson Charter School is located in Albany, New York. At the time of closing, 94% of its students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch and 74% of its students were African American.
LISC provided a $6.00 million acquisition loan that allowed the school to purchase the facility they had been leasing.
