HSS Artist Collective is a newly formed nonprofit organization comprised of the HSS artist community, including painters, scenic designers, ceramicists, graphic designers, printers, fabricators, metalsmiths, sculptors, jewelry makers, furniture makers, photographers, videographers and more. Some artist tenants have been at Humphreys Street Studio for nearly 20 years.

LISC provided a $775,000 permanent loan to HSS Artist Collective to support the acquisition of Humphreys Street Studios. Humpreys Street Studios was established in 2002 as affordable artist workspaces in Uphams Corner of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. HSS Artist Collective will acquire the property with the goal of preserving 32 artist studios and nearly 40 small businesses.
