About the project
RISE Prep Mayoral Academy educates K-8 scholars for success in college and a life of community engagement through a structured learning environment, rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and character education. The school was founded in 2015. At the time of closing, 50% of students qualified for free or reduced priced lunch.
RISE Prep Mayoral Academy is located in Woonsocket, RI.
LISC purchased a 50% participation interest in Nonprofit Finance Fund’s $2.60 and $6.60 million loans to RISE Prep. RISE Prep used the financing to renovate the third and fourth floors of its permanent facility. The renovations provided sufficient classroom space for grades K-8, and all amenities except for a gymnasium.
