San Antonio Single Family Rehab
About the project
San Antonio Affordable Housing Inc. (SAAH) is the City of San Antonio's nonprofit affordable housing development arm. SAAH works to develop affordable housing, improve the existing affordable housing stock, and combat community deterioration through housing and community development related programs and activities. In particular, SAAH has an MOU with the City which outlines SAAH’s role in land banking, urban renewal, acquisition, repair and disposition of real estate under the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) as well as the City’s locally funded RenewSA program. The City provides funding to SAAH for these activities.
SAAH is located in San Antonio, TX and works in the low-income neighborhoods that are primarily located inside Loop 410 (urban core) in San Antonio.
LISC provided $119,138 in construction financing to support the substantial rehabilitation of three single family homes, primarily located on the eastside and southside of San Antonio. The homes are all 3-bedroom and 2-bathroom and between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet. All homes will be sold to households at no more than 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI) and will include a five year deed restriction to enforce that affordability expectation. The scope of work for each home will include general repairs to the exterior siding and roofs as well as all new HVAC, new water heater, updating the bathrooms, new kitchen cabinets and appliances, new flooring throughout, new windows and doors, as well as inspection of foundations and repair if needed.
