Sandston Senior Retirement Community
About the project
Southside Community Development and Housing Corporation (SCDHC) first opened its doors in the Old South District of Richmond, Virginia in 1988. It is the only historically African American led nonprofit community development corporation in Richmond which develops single family homes for households with income at or below 80% of the median income and provides comprehensive housing counseling services.
Today SCDHC’s mission is to use a holistic approach to create viable thriving and sustainable communities. The purpose is to provide residential and commercial development, homeownership education and counseling, financial counseling and coaching, employment services, and supportive programs to low-income families throughout the Central Virginia region.
SCDHC is located in Richmond, VA.
LISC provided $3.60 million in financing to support the Sandston Senior Retirement Community, a 100-unit LIHTC senior property that was newly constructed in 2006.
