SkyART Studios
About the project
Founded in 2001 as the South Chicago Art Center, SkyART is commited to provide young people with quality creative programming in a safe, accessible space.
Headquartered in Chicago's South Side, SkyART provides programming in 45 locations, including the SkyART Studios, 23 partnering South Side schools, and 21 community locations.
LISC provided SkyART with a $270,000 construction and mini-permanent loan, providing them the fiscal flexibility needed to redevelop and move into a new studio. The 6,000-square-foot studio will contain a state-of-the-art computer lab, an extensive art library, space to host visits from local schools, and a ceramics studio.
