Founded in September 2012, Stepping Stones Nursery School is a play-based infant and preschool daycare. Its mission is to empower children to be leaders, innovators, thinkers, creators, philosophers, and poets.

LISC provided a $337,500 loan to help Stepping Stones acquire real estate in the Portage Park neighborhood of Northwest Chicago. This purchase will enable Stepping Stones to expand their business, allowing them to accommodate more students than their existing locations can host. The LISC loan also supported a women-owned business, and helped to generate new full-time jobs.
