STOP School-Based CVI Approaches: Utilizing CVI Partnerships
This webinar is part of a series for the STOP School Violence Specialized Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program. Through this program, LISC is helping schools and community partners understand the foundational elements of community violence intervention approaches and sharing guidance on planning and implementing school-based CVI strategies. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance.
Overview
Community Violence Intervention (CVI) efforts are unique safety strategies that engage a wide range of community partners to intervene and prevent incidents of violence. For schools engaging in CVI efforts, a common struggle is determining who and how to partner with community-based agencies. Panelists discuss how to identify and build a network of community violence intervention partners that can support schools, students and their families to reduce and prevent violence in schools and the community. They also highlight common challenges that can derail school-based CVI partnerships, and best practices to ensure collaborative success and sustainability of school-based CVI strategies.
