About the project

ONE Neighborhood Builders (formerly Olneyville Housing Corporation) develops affordable housing and engages neighbors across Greater Providence to cultivate healthy, vibrant, and safe communities. Founded in 1988, ONE Neighborhood Builders has developed 458 affordable apartments and 130 home ownership opportunities, advancing its mission by addressing root causes of health disparities, embracing innovation, and building the community development field.

ONE Neighborhood Builders is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island and engages neighbors across the Greater Providence area.

LISC provided a $3.50 million acquisition loan to support ONE Neighborhood Builders' Taunton Avenue Initiative in East Providence. In total, the project will include 134 new units of deed-restricted affordable housing and an Early Learning Center on three adjacent lots. All units will be restricted to 60% AMI with at least 40% targeted to priority populations including young adults aging out of the Rhode Island foster care system, families unable to secure the return of their children from state care due to a lack of housing stability and households transitioning from or at imminent risk of experiencing homelessness.
