West End III
About the project
Women's Development Corporation (WDC) was founded in 1979 by three self-described "feminist architects." A nonprofit developer of affordable housing, the organization focuses on providing affordable housing for specialized populations in addition to the provision of development consulting services to smaller, community-based nonprofits.
WDC is based in Providence, RI and works throughout the state of Rhode Island and in southeastern Massachusetts.
LISC provided $374,339 in predevelopment financing to support West End III, a combination preservation/new construction project involving the rehabilitation of two existing affordable rental properties as well as the construction of new rental units for a total of 52 affordable units available to families making no more than 60% of AMI. The project has an emphasis on family housing, with most units having three or four bedrooms.
