Westville Community Nursery School
About the project
Since 1971, Westville Community Nursery School, Inc. (WCNS) has been committed to fostering healthy emotional, social, physical, language and intellectual growth of young children in the New Haven community. With an emphasis on teaching children between the ages of three and four, WCNS has a strong track record of building strong communities of active, engaged learners and families.
Westville Community Nursery School, Inc. is headquartered in New Haven, CT.
LISC provided $365,000 in mini-permanent financing to support the acquisition of a property to serve as the headquarters for WCNS and enable them to increase the range of their programming services. Funds will be used for the installation of child-appropriate restrooms and classroom sinks, a security system to ensure the safety of children and staff, and an energy-efficient kitchen area that will include a dishwasher. This will also allow the school to increase its number of students served to 30 per year.
