LISC has named Jennifer Collins, a leading voice in impact investing, as its head of enterprise operations. The new position will shape strategy and drive LISC’s rapidly expanding work in economic development, especially in communities of color.
NEW YORK (Aug. 31, 2020)—The Local Initiatives Support Corporation has named a leading voice in impact investing as its head of enterprise operations, a new position to help shape strategy and drive LISC’s rapidly expanding work in economic development, especially in communities of color.
Jennifer Collins joins LISC from Georgetown University’s Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation, where she served as the Center’s Lead on Inclusive Community Impact Investing. She worked extensively on Opportunity Zones and other strategies to deploy capital to low-income communities. She also founded the Beeck Center Investor Council—a cohort of investors, developers and fund managers focused on supporting community impact—and was a member of the Center’s Fair Finance initiative, examining structural inequities in the financial system.
Before joining Beeck, she spent nearly two decades in the real estate business, leading a variety of asset management and private equity strategies for hospitality portfolios, including oversight of development plans, investment strategies and recruiting.
“Jen is a remarkable talent, someone who has leveraged her expertise in global real estate to catalyze mission-driven investments that benefit families and communities,” said Annie Donovan, LISC’s chief operating officer. “We’re thrilled that she is bringing her skills to LISC in support of our work to bridge the racial wealth gap, address social determinants of health and spur growth in underserved communities.”
Collins can be reached at jcollins@lisc.org beginning on Sept. 14, 2020.
