Rheingold Affordable Senior Residences
About the project
Since 1972, Southside United Housing Development Fund Corporation (Los Sures) has been dedicated to rebuilding the South Side of Williamsburg, Brooklyn by investing in a safe and sustainable neighborhood. Today, the organization provides a multitude of much-needed services, including the creation of low-income rental housing, cooperative housing, and single-family homes, in addition to the operation of a senior center and a food pantry.
Los Sures is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY.
LISC provided Los Sures with $2,155,460 in predevelopment financing to assist with the development of the Rheingold Affordable Senior Residences, located at 11-23 Montieth Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The new-construction, 8-story building will provide 94 new units of 100% affordable senior housing, rent capped at 60% AMI or below. The project will also offer social and supportive services on site, including a health care facility, communal gardens, a dedicated health and wellness center for exercise (with gym equipment designed with older adults in mind), an aquatic therapy pool, and on-site staff to facilitate the use of the space. The project also incorporates sustainable design and is built to Enterprise Green Communities standards.
